Is life all about work?  Rushing at everything?  It shouldn’t be.  It’s a sad state of affairs when surveys show that people are too busy too recycle; too busy to read to their children; too busy to eat properly or to exercise.  Why did life get so busy? At Sherwood Energy Village, we are providing some opportunities to counter the stress of modern life – if you choose to take it (it’s not our place to nag, enough people are there to do that).

Taking shape in a circle at the centre of the Energy Village Central Park.  The garden is a public amenity created and funded by SEV to give everyone an opportunity to ‘chill out’ and watch the world go by – for workers to eat their lunch and get away from their workstation; for parents to play with their kids and for people to sit and stare.  Like the poet William Henry Davies said in his poem Leisure- “What is this life if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare,”

In addition to the park, there is the Arena, around 16 acres, (6.46 hectares) forming a natural amphitheatre.  This area is bounded by mature trees and clay-lined swales on one side have formed a wetlands area, adding to the site’s evolving bio-diversity.  The rest of the Arena is designated for the development of sporting and recreational pursuits.
